How This Works

Photographs, a read, and then your decision — with one local question answered along the way.

One question decides most of the bill in this city: whether there is an approved cleanout at your property line.

1. Send what the house is doing

Not just the fixture. The sequence matters more than the close-up: which drains misbehave, in what order, and what has to be running for it to happen. Add the cleanout by the house and the one near the sidewalk, and any patch of ground between the house and the street that stays wet or has sunk.

If a plumber has been out before, whatever they left behind — an invoice, a scribbled diagnosis, a camera recording — is worth more than another photograph.

2. Get the read

Written, and in this order: which part of the system this looks like, what clearing it at that depth runs locally, whether a camera is worth its price yet, and what your cleanout situation means for the pipe under the street. Where the pictures genuinely cannot settle it, the read says which measurement would and what that measurement costs — a cable with footage marks and a camera answer different questions, and paying for the wrong one first is the common mistake.

3. Decide, or wait

Nothing is dispatched because pictures arrived. If the read says clearing, you know roughly what the call should cost before you make it. If it says the pipe, you have something to hold the next replacement quote against — and the knowledge of whether the expensive section is even yours to replace.

The limits of it

This is neither a dispatch desk nor an inspection, and nothing here is a lead somebody buys. A photograph shows a fixture and a cleanout; it does not show the inside of a pipe forty feet down the yard. Anyone who quotes a lateral replacement off pictures alone is guessing with your money.

The urgent exception

If sewage is entering living space, none of the above applies in that order: stop using water in the house, keep people out of the affected rooms, and treat it as contamination. The read still comes, but the first line of it will be about the house, not the price.

What we ask back

A number that reaches you, and your street — this trade's answers change at the town line, because who owns the lower lateral does.
